In Memorial

Ed Stevens, one of the most active members the Sierra Club, Hawai'i Chapter has ever had, passed away recently. Ed served as Chapter Chair and Treasurer. He dedicated his tremendous energy to getting the chapter on a firm financial footing, the enunciation of good environmental policy and to population issues. He was generous to the Club in time and money and is especially remembered for his spirited, tireless work to stop H-3. His hospitality, energy, attention to detail and sense of humor kept the Club going for decades.

Two memorial benches for Tom Shields have been established in the native plant section of Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden.
