1996-97 O'ahu Group Service Project Schedule
These three-day service trips offer two days of work and a day of outings. Often, they allow entree where the general public is not permitted. To hold a space on the trip you need to send a deposit of $25.00 per person to the leader listed first. Make your check payable to the leader. The trips fill quickly, so send in your deposit now. Trips cost from $120-$150 per person, which includes airfare, ground transportation, meals, lodging, and a portion of the leaders' trip fees. See the January-March 1996 issue of the Malama for complete descriptions.
Leaders: Save the date November 15 for our annual Na Kokua potluck dinner and signup for the 1997 service trips. We have several new trips for 1997, so plan to attend to have first choice for dates.

MIDWEEK SERVICE TRIP:
KANEPU'U PRESERVE (Lana'i)
This is a leaders-only orientation to scout the service trip to the Nature Conservancy's Kanepu'u Preserve. We might even be able to extend the stay through New Year's to avoid the hoopla on O'ahu.
We will camp near the dry-land forest preserve in tents. Water will be hauled to the primitive campsite. Work will be varied and may involve fence repair, alien plant eradication, and nursery work such as seed collecting, planting, potting, and replanting. TNC also needs assistance in setting up an irrigation system for the preserve.
