Action Alert!

Help us protect the endangered monk seal and the coral reef ecosystems
of the Northwest Hawaiian Islands.

Please write a letter supporting the President's Northwest Hawaiian
Islands Initiative and mail it to the U.S. Institute for Environmental
Conflict Resolution at Suite 3350, 110 South Church Avenue, Tucson, AZ,
85701. Letters must be received by August 2. (Sample Letter.)

Please also attend the upcoming public meeting on your island. The
meetings will all take place from 6 PM to 9 PM:

July 24 Oahu Kalihi Kai Elementary School Cafeteria
July 25 Maui Baldwin High School Auditorium
July 27 Kona Kealakehe High School Cafeteria
July 28 Hilo Hilo High School Cafeteria
July 31 Kauai Kauai Community College Cafeteria
August 1 Molokai Mitchell Pauole Center

Ask for large marine protected area boundaries, including major areas
designated as no-take reserves. The coral reef ecosystems and the
fisheries of the Northwest Hawaiian Islands should be protected instead
of being exploited.
