Volunteers Needed

Hike Committee Member:
1 hr/month. Arrange permits and permissions for hikes and service trips.
Hike leaders:
Organize and lead 1-3 hikes a quarter (half day Sierra Club hike leader training required).
Newsletter Committee:
3-4 hours every 3 months. Label, sort and fill out bulk mail forms for shipping quarterly newsletter. Distribute newsletters to community locations.
Programs Committee/Event Coordinators:
4 hr/month. Help produce various educational events and programs with speakers and display.
Fundraising Committee Member:
s 2 hours/week per event. Help coordinate several small fundraisers a year.

Specific Volunteer Opportunities (Short Term)

Political Committee:
June-October 2006. Interviews candidates for endorsement and coordinates sign waving and phone tree support for candidates. Helps with candidate picnic in August.
Conservation Committee:
Various issues. Call, write letters, circulate petitions, attend rallies or hearings, and create displays.
Service Outing Volunteer:
Battle invasive plants, restore cultural sites, and remove litter.
General helpers at Maui Group Events:
Throughout the year. Helpers needed to pass out info, sell T-shirts, serve food, decorate, set up and clean up.
